Baby Memory Box

I love saving memories, partly because my memory is so shockingly bad, and also because there's nothing better than looking through them years later! Hopefully my kids will enjoy their baby keepsake boxes when their older, although I know I'll be looking through when they're stroppy teens and challenging my patience, to remind me of the baby stage.

The box is just a cheap cardboard one so hopefully it'll survive but it looks cute with a nursery rhyme on the side. And since moving I've found a great storage cupboard so they shouldn't be moved too often.

Inside I've got:
  • Their first baby outfit
  •   My pregnancy diary that I wrote in and then once a month for the first year roughly. Although it's wrapped in ribbon as I stuck in so many photographs and doesn't close properly anymore
  • Newspapers from Baby's day they were born (not a great headline for a baby but no choice in the matter there!)
  • The christening certificate and candle
  •  A copy of the invitation to the Baptism and a Guestbook during it
  • During the Baptism celebration I'd had a baby photo with a question about what does everything think he'll be when he's older so guests could guess
  • Photos from the christening on the USB and a DVD of all the best video clips and photos from baby's first year.
  • I took a photo of all the babies together that we'd met at a baby group. His first baby haircut certificate with a lock of hair. And a photo with the first pair of shoes.
  •  We bought a Build-A-Bear for in memory of my sister (as she would have loved to be an aunt and liked that shop in particular)
  •  1st Christmas special cards, a photo book of their first Christmas and a letter from Santa (with some help from the NSPCC!)
  •  A photo book of their 1st holiday
  •  1st birthday and christening cards
  • Favourite book as a baby and their special toy
  •  And lastly their memory book

Hopefully this might be of help if you need ideas on what to save, I've also saved a couple other outfits that I loved and could be good enough to pass on to their children if they wanted.
